Countywide Dedicates Time to Educate Local Youth

Friday, March 15, 2019

Team members from Countywide Mechanical Systems spent two Saturdays in February sharing safety information with students at Castle Park High School in Chula Vista. Safety Manager, Jerry Fredericksen, volunteered to teach an OSHA 10 class to their construction trades classes.

While this endeavor was a new initiative to the team, the Countywide Service Department has provided an in the field internship for several years now. Interns are all treated like new hires – they are equipped and then put them to work for a few weeks of summer. The team does this to try and get kids interested in the trades and to give back to their community. Jerry's role in this program has grown with the program and brought a very important focus on safety to the training.

Countywide is proud to participate in programs that support educating youth on the opportunities available to them in the construction industry.
